Notes by the uploader:
I traded for this show several years ago. It sounds quite good for it's time and I suppose I'd give it an A- because the vocals and instrumentation are clear and fairly free of audience interference. Sound, as always, is subjective.

Technical info:
On my copy (and I imagine on all) Taxi Grab was cut and divided over two tracks. A small portion of the song is missing. From this split until 28 seconds into the cheers for more before the Guitar Solo just prior to Wind Up, the recording was very slow which put it out of sync with the rest of the recording. I increased the speed by 8% in this area to match the rest of the show in Audacity and spliced Taxi Grab so it is one track minus the several seconds of dead space it previously contained.
Other than the changes I mentioned, I left the files as they were previously tracked on my CD copy I received. Please do not change my files and re-up unless you can make a marked difference. Enjoy the show.

"A PASSION PLAY, THE STORY OF IAN ANDERSON AND JETHRO TULL". NEW BOOK

"A PASSION PLAY, THE STORY OF IAN ANDERSON AND JETHRO TULL" BY BRIAN RABEY, NEW BOOK.
It will be published 20 March, 2013.

In the summer of 1972 Jethro Tull hit the dizzy heights of number one in the Billboard album charts, and thus could lay claim to being the world's biggest band at the time, with Thick As A Brick. They repeated the feat the next year with A Passion Play and have sold over 60 million albums to date. Considering just how big this group is (they are still going to this day, of course) there is surprisingly little written about them - only a couple of books, which is scandalous when you consider how many books have been written about contemporaries such as Yes or Led Zeppelin. This book is a gem containing interviews with band members such as Jeffrey Hammond-Hammond, John Evans, Martin Barre and - of course Ian Anderson. In fact, this book may well contain the longest interview Anderson has ever given. Biographer Brian Rabey and Anderson really hit it off, possibly because Brian helped the latter recover his beloved harmonica which was stolen backstage - something Anderson never forgot. Biographer Brian Rabey was given access all areas and used this wisely. Via new interviews he traces the history of a band which started life as the Blades, briefly included Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi (his plastic finger tips grafted on after an accident didn't lend themselves to playing Tull's subtle music!), and went on to become Prog Rock royalty (or Elizabethan Rock as they were sometimes dubbed!), but constantly re-invented itself with new personnel and styles. Due to Brian's contact book there are also quotes from contemporaries such as Greg Lake and John Wetton, which really helps to put things in context. Another really appealing aspect of the book is that it looks at the landscape of the times - for example, the flat Tull lived in during the 1960s would be regarded as unfit for human habitation today. A final nice touch is that several band members have sent photographs from their personal collections making this a unique book. AMAZON

Another of the endless "Best of Tull" tours with no new material to promote. It had beenalmost a year since the 25 anniversary collection was released and any new material wouldhave to wait until next year, though a little hint of Divinities was played "In The Grip Jig."This tour was the last straw for Dave Pegg who's final show with Tull was only a coupleof months away.
Having said all that, this is a wonderful show. Very well recorded, it captures a dynamicperformance by a band that knows how to deliver. Some interesting selections performed asinstrumentals bridge the old favorites which really flow well. If "A New Day Yesterday"doesn't get your rocks off, nothing will. Needless to say, I really recommend this one!My only gripe - it's too damn short!!!

OTRA DE LAS INTERMINABLES "lo mejor de" GIRAS SIN NINGUN NUEVO MATERIAL QUE PROMOCIONAR. HABIA PASADO CASI UN AÑO DESDE QUE SE PUBLICARA EL RECOPILATORIO DEL 25 ANIVERSARIO Y CUALQUIER MATERIAL NUEVO PODIA HABER ESPERADO HASTA EL SIGUIENTE AÑO. SIN EMBARGO, SE INTERPRETARON ALGUNAS PARTES DEL ALBUM DIVINITIES (IN THE GRIP JIG). ESTA GIRA FUE LA ULTIMA PARA DAVE PEGG CUYO CONCIERTO DE DESPEDIDA ESTABA MY CERCA , SUCEDIÓ ALGUNOS MESES DESPUES.
HABIENDO DICHO ESTO, ESTAMOS ANTE UN CONCIERTO SENSACIONAL. MUY BIEN GRABADO, CAPTURA EL DINAMISMO DE UNA BANDA QUE SABE MUY BIEN COMO CONSEGUIRLA. UNA MUY BUENA SELECCION DE TEMAS ELEGIDOS , COMO LOS INSTRUMENTALES QUE DAN PASO A LOS VIEJOS CLASICOS, Y QUE FUNCIONAN REALMENTE BIEN. SI "A NEW DAY YESTERDAY" NO TE HACE ROKEAR, NADA TE LO HARÁ. NO HACE FALTA DECIR QUE REALMENTE OS RECOMIENDO ESTE DISCO.
MI UNICA PEGA- QUE ES JODIDAMENTE CORTO¡

NOTE BY ORIGINAL UPLOADER:
Here is a recording of Jethro Tull I made in 1993 in Paris with a DAT recorder. It was the 25th anniversary tour of the band, and I don't think there are many recordings available from this tour.

Sound quality is very good. Sometimes, we don't hear Ian's voice very well, but it was the sound we got in the hall. After a few numbers, the sound gets better (almost excellent IMO). The only downside is that my neighbours were chating a bit (mostly between songs !), but nothing really annoying.
It comes with a lot of bonus tracks, which I think are very rare.

THE A NEW DAY TAPES-VOLUME ONE

THE A NEW DAY TAPES-VOLUME ONE by DAVE REES & MARTIN WEBBA collection of interviews with Jethro Tull members past & present, culled from the pages of A New Day, the Jethro Tull magazine.
AT LAST! Books have just arrived from the printers and are being despatched now.
INCLUDES EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEWS WITH:
IAN ANDERSON, MARTIN BARRE, MICK ABRAHAMS, CLIVE BUNKER, GLENN CORNICK, BARRIEMORE BARLOW, JEFFREY HAMMONF HAMMOND, JOHN EVANS, DAVE PEGG, MAARTIN ALLCOCK, DOANE PERRY, ANDREW GIDDINGS, DAVID PALMER, MARK CRANEY, DON AIREY, MATT PEGG, TONY IOMMI, TONY WILLIAMS, DAVE REES, THE JOHN EVAN BAND.

David Rees, Martin Webb and the group of foolish but merry diehards at "A New Day Magazine" have come up trumps with a collection of over 25 years-worth of scandalous, scurrilous, rambling and occasionally coherent interviews  from Ian Anderson, various band members and associates.
Hours of effort, gallons of british beer and hundreds of litres of varios European brews have disappeared into the cavernous maw of intellectual and disciplined journalistic enquiry. Midnight lamps have burned into the wee sma´hours. Biros and qwerty keys have been worn to the nub. Heads scratched and options tossed like an overstuffed omelette to bring you the best and worst of blah and blether.
And don´t believe a word that Barriemore Barlow says. He´s a softie, really.

THE A NEW DAY TAPES-VOLUMEN UNO por DAVE REES Y MARTIN WEBB

THE PENNY PEEPS MEET THE NOBLEMEN-NOW AVAILABLE!|

"THE PENNY PEEPS MEET THE NOBLEMEN"-NOW AVAILABLE!
Hear Martin Barre before he joined Jethro Tull!
Three rare Martin Barre tracks with the The Penny Peeps in 1968 are now available from iTunes, Rhapsody, Amazon and many other sites.
MEET ME AT THE FAIR*HELEN DOESN´T CARE*INTO MY LIFE SHE CAME (Martin Barre on flute and guitar). The special release also features three unissued late 1965 tracks by Brian Stevens and Mike Ketley´s previus group The Noblemen.
All tracks have beeen carefully restored from the original reference acetates.

Little is known about the Penny Peeps, aside from the fact that they recorded two hopelessly obscure, yet highly collectable singles, which today fetch ridiculous sums of money. Collectors may be surprised to learn, however, that the Penny Peeps’ guitarist was none other than future Jethro Tull axe man Martin Barre (b. 17 November 1946, Birmingham), who had joined the band in 1966 when it was known as the Noblemen. (Nick Warburton).
You can read the complete story of The Penny Peeps and The Noblemen at Nickwarburton.com

JETHRO TULL´S IAN ANDERSON. CRITICA CONCIERTO 14 DE JULIO DE 2012 EN CORDOBA. FOTOS EXCLUSIVAS.

JOSE MARIA ALJAMA
THICK AS A BRICK

An energetic and fresh concert from Jethro Tull, recorded during the
Catfish Rising tour. Ian and the gang came about with an amazing
collection of songs from the new, to unexpected classic oldies.
During this time (1992) I had recently discovered and fell in love with
the oldest and earliest Tull. I can't say how amazed I was to hear songs
I never thought I'd hear live. "My Sunday Feeling"
"Someday the Sun Won't Shine for You" "Beggars Farm".
I was in my glory!!!
A friend of mine was in the front rows, with a DAT recorder.
This was Jethro Tull...at Massey Hall.

The sound quality of this show is very good. The music and instruments
are good and clear. Ian's voice however, as it was live at the show, is
often distant and, not unexpectedly, weak.
The concert itself is energetic, with the band well on form. Ian has
many comic moments, all nicely captured here. At one point requesting
that we, the audience, refrain from our hooping and hollering, as
they would rather hear themselves play instead of our "ridiculous voices",
and suggesting we save it for a Bruce Springsteen concert.
Nice slap from Ian! All in good fun.

The biggest glitch in this recording appears on three tracks:
  Farm on The Freeway
  My God
  Locomotive Breath

A digital "static" occurs throughout, most prominent during the louder
sections of the songs. Whether this flaw occured during tranfer from tape
to PC, or happened during the burning process, I'm not sure. It's
definatley NOT unlistenable, but noticable.
Otherwise, this is it! Raw, unprocessed, and first generation.

As far as I know, this is a first time release of this concert.
For a Tull fan it's a perfect candidate for remastering.

Pour yourself a glass, sit back, and enjoy the show.

Anderson presentó, 30 años después, el álbum Thick as a Brick.

A strong and energetic performance from this harder to find version of
Tulls Chicago 1970 FM broadcast concert.
Most copies available on the interent today are shorter by almost
20 minutes. This version is complete, adding previously cut
tracks such as Dharma for One, We Used to Know, and Improvisations.
This recording also captures the moments between the songs,
such as tunings, and of course, Ian's always entertaining comments,
and quips.

Sadly this is only an mp3 version. The only trace of lineage here is from
cassette. The original uploaders notes says he obtained the tape in the
mid-eighties. So generation is unknown.
The sound is pure, unprocessed to my ear.Subsequent versions of this album
have been cleaned up, with less bass. The sound here is fuller, albeit slightly
"muddy" at times.
The final verdict will, of course, be Up To You.

Enjoy!

NOTES
Absolutely fantastic show, so delighted we went. Balcony, fifth row, left of centre. Those who have upped the previous shows have given the lowdown on the format, so not a lot for me to add. Ian was on fantastic form on flute, but voice was under massive strain during Thick As A Brick.

Delivering it as a duet with Ryan worked fantastically well (listen out for when he starts singing, two or three minutes in, and you can hear the hub-bub as the audience realise it's not Ian singing any more). His voice was incredibly close in timbre and intonation to Ian's - and fiona23yh (aka Her Indoors) was most disappointed that Ryan didn't sing more during TAAB2!

thanks to EDGE.
