Actuaciones de Cristóbal (cómo no), los Tull i Panes Marching Band, Peach (grupo joven), Tundra y Un tal Jethro (el nuevo grupo de Josu y José Ignacio). Estaran como invitados James Duncan (hijo de Mr. Anderson), que actuará con su grupo The Fancy Toys. Estarán con nosotros también Dee Palmer (arreglista de los temas orquestales y teclista desde 1976 hasta 1980) y Maartin Allcock (teclista de finales de los 80.Como veis, un gran cartel que promete horas de buena música. La organización espera reunir un gran número de Tullianos de toda España. Suerte, amigos.

PROG ROCK BRITANNIA-AN OBSERVATION IN THREE MOVEMENTS

Documentary about progressive music and the generation of bands that were involved, from the international success stories of Yes, Genesis, ELP, King Crimson and Jethro Tull to the trials and tribulations of lesser-known bands such as Caravan and Egg.
The film is structured in three parts, charting the birth, rise and decline of a movement famed for complex musical structures, weird time signatures, technical virtuosity and strange, and quintessentially English, literary influences.
It looks at the psychedelic pop scene that gave birth to progressive rock in the late 1960s, the golden age of progressive music in the early 1970s, complete with drum solos and gatefold record sleeves, and the over-ambition, commercialisation and eventual fall from grace of this rarefied musical experiment at the hands of punk in 1977.

Documental producido y emitido por la BBC britanica, que trata sobre la musica progresiva y las bandas que estuvieron envueltas en ella, desde el éxito internacional de Yes, Genesis, ELP, King Crimson y Jethro Tull hasta las tribulaciones de grupos menos conocidos como Caravan ó Egg.

Redbeard was a top-rated Program Director and internationally-known on-air radio personality in Memphis 1978-1983 and Dallas/Ft. Worth 1984-1998. As one of the original “Dirty Dozen” Program Directors hired, Redbeard pioneered XM Satellite Radio as the first afternoon host of “Deep Tracks XM-40″ from September 2001 through June 2002. In 2007-2008 Redbeard hosted afternoons on Lone Star 92.5/KZPS in Dallas/Ft. Worth, a unique Texas regional rock/Americana hybrid that featured no recorded commercials.

Readbeard fué un afamado Director de Programas y un personaje conocido internacionalmente en la radio en directo en Memphis desde 1978 hasta 1983, y en Dallas desde 1984 hasta 1998. "I always hoped that there would be a good recording of Jethro Tull's Rock Island tour from 1989, which I think is one of the most interesting in Tull's history.

Their set-list contained songs the band has never performed live since (Strange Avenues, Bigg riff, the whaler's due... for example) and others they had never played before (Jack-a-lynn, The Third hooraah ...). It is also the only tour with Maartin Allcock (multi-instrumentalist, also a member of Fairport Convention, like his colleague Dave Pegg) and the only time that Martin Barre was no not the only guitarist.

Unfortunately, only one soundboard of this 1989 tour exists (Tampa, Florida November 26, 1989) and yet is it an incomplete recording - barely half of the concert- with many flaws: a lot of hiss, some cuts in several songs, distortion, wrong speed, audience totally absent...Among the audience recordings, those most widely available are not the best in my opinion. Only one could be rated "very good" or "excellent" IMO: that of Zurich, Switzerland 13 October 1989. But unfortunately, again with an audience quite absent.

Hence the idea of working in a reconstruction of a full concert using the 2 best recordings above and correcting the many flaws. Then, using several other audience recordings, I managed to add the live ambiance - mainly between songs - that the original sources were lacking .Here's the result: arguably the best bootleg of the 1989 tour, and without doubt the most pleasant release to listen from beginning to end.

The title of this bootleg is in reference to the multiplicity of sources used to reconstruct this *ultimate* concert."

Siempre tuve la esperanza de que habria alguana buena grabacion de la gira del album Rock Island de Jethro tull, en 1989, ya que creo que es una de las giras mas interesantes en la historia de la banda.

El set de canciones incluia temas que la banda nunca habia interpretado en directo (strange avenues,bigg riff, the whaler´s due...por ejemplo) y otras antiguas jamas tocadas en vivo (jac-a-lynn, the third hooraah:::). Tambien es la unica gira con Maartin Allcock (multiinstrumentista, tambien miembro de la formacion Fairport Convention, como su colega Dave Pegg) y la unica vez que Martin Barre no fué el unico guitarrista (en esta gira Ian Anderson se atrevió en varias canciones con la electrica ritmica, NOTA DEL TRADUCTOR).

Desgraciadamente solo una grabacion desde la mesa de sonido existe (Tampa, Florida, 26 de Noviembre de 1989), y está incompleta, sólo la mitad de l concierto, ademas de tener multiples errores de sonido (distorsión, velocidad de la cinta incorrecta, total ausencia de ruido por parte del publico...junto a las grabaciones caseras de entre el publico, mi opinion es que no son las mejores. Solo una de estas grabaciones puede ser puntuada como "muy buena" ó "excelente": aquella de Zurich, Suiza, del 13 de octubre de 1989.Pero desgraciadamente, otra vez con la total ausencia de sonido por parte de la audiencia.

Pensé en la idea de trabajar en la reconstruccion de un concierto completo usando las 2 mejores grabaciones y corrigiendo los numerosos errores. Luego, usando varias grabaciones de publico de otras fuentes, añadí el ambiente de un concierto en vivo, principalmente entre canciones-ya que las fuentes originales estaban mal.Aqui esta el resultado: Con seguridad el mejor bootleg de la gira de 1989, y sin duda, la edicion con mas calidad para escuchar de principio a fin.

El titulo de este bootleg hace referncia a la multitud de fuentes usadas para la reconstruccion de éste "concierto definitivo".

British rock veterans Jethro Tull are said to be planning a new album in addition to a summer U.S. tour. Starting on June 11th in Miami, the tour will then take the group north to Boston, Chicago and Toronto, among others.
Tull’s plans for a new album will end an 11-year drought for the group, one that is remembered for iconic hits such as “Aqualung,” “Locomotive Breath,” and “Living In The Past.”
Regarding the new album, enduring frontman Ian Anderson says, “I have sent material over to America where the band are working on it. That’s kind of how it works these days but they seem to like what I am doing.”
No release date for the new material has yet been announced, but it is probably a bit too early in the process. Perhaps there’s a chance they will showcase a taste of their new work while on tour. (REALROCKNEWS.COM)

Extensísima e interesantísima entrevista con el ex-teclista de Jethro Tull, primera que da desde que abandonó la formación. Cuenta cosas jugosas:
"La violinista...nunca entendí eso, y sigo sin entenderlo" (se refiere a las violinistas, Ann Marie Calhoun, etc., que han tocado con el grupo en los ultimos años), "Tienen su sitio, pero en una orquesta, quiero decir, si fuera a ver a mi grupo favorito, Pink Floyd, por ejemplo, y me salen con un oboe haciendo una version de Smoke On The Water, pensaría ¿de que va ésto?, no entendí lo de hacer versiones de Led Zeppelín" (Kashmir).
Más: "No estoy furioso por el despido, sí perplejo. No hecho de menos nada, sí a los amigos, pero para nada los viajes, que cada vez eran peores debido a la política de economía de guerra de Ian. Sé que Dave Goodier y John O´Hara viajan bastante en autobus éstos días, lo cual indica lo que te hablo de la economía. Soy demasiado viejo para viajar en autobús, ya lo hice durante 25 años."
