JETHRO TULL-RARE AND HARD TO FIND COMPILATIONS.
Con la llegada del CD a finales de los años ochenta proliferaron multitud de álbumes recopilatorios que contenían diferentes bandas, solistas, ó estilos musicales. En pleno siglo XXI éstos discos recopilatorios son incontables, y se pueden encontrar a precios asequibles, los más modestos, y bastante caros los más raros. Quiero empezar aquí un dossier donde iré publicando diferentes recopilatorios donde haya tenido cabida algún tema de Jethro Tull. La lista es interminable pero aquí trataré de poner los más interesantes.

With the advent of the CD in the late eighties, it comes many compilation albums containing different bands, solo artists, or musical styles. In the XXI century these compilations are countless, and can be found at affordable prices, the most modest, and quite expensive the rarest. I want to start here a dossier where i  will post different compilations where Jethro Tull appears. The list is endless but here I will try to put the most interesting.

WONDROUS STORIES-A COMPLETE INTRODUCTION TO PROGRESSIVE ROCK.
Wondrous Stories es un magnífico box set de 4 CDs editado por Universal el año 2011. La caja repasa, en sus 52 canciones, la apasionante historia del Rock Progresivo desde sus inicios. El cuádruple álbum está compilado por Jerry Ewing, editor de la prestigiosa revista Classic Rock, y viene en formato libro, con un libreto interior de muchas páginas, donde se repasa de manera rápida, la trayectoria de cada banda aquí representada. La portada es un dibujo de Roger Dean, autor de las portadas de los álbumes de Yes. Existe un primer volumen, de dos CDs y misma portada, pero con diferente track list, donde Living In The Past representa a Jethro Tull.

Recomendaría éste box set a todo fan de éste género musical, ya que contiene verdaderos himnos del Rock Progresivo. Es cierto que faltan nombres importantes como Pink Floyd, King Crimson ó Genesis, supongo que cuestión de licencias, pero escucharás en todo su esplendor y con un sonido extraordinario a Van Der Graf Generator, Atomic Rooster, Jethro Tull, Mike Oldfield, Camel, Caravan, EL&P, Curved Air, Gong, Gentle Giant, Aphrodite´s Child, IQ, It Bites, Dream Theater, Rush, Supertramp y un sinfín de bandas más, todas representadas con muy buenoas canciones. Qué delicia escuchar los diez minutos épicos de Lord Of Ages, tema de Magna Carta.
Jethro Tull está representado por dos canciones, Aqualung, en su versión en vivo del álbum Bursting Out, y una versión light de Pussy Willow, la publicada en el disco A Little Light Music, lo cual no les hace mucha justicia.

Wondrous Stories is a magnificent 4-CD box set released by Universal in 2011. The box set looks back on his 52 songs, the fascinating history of progressive rock since its inception. The quadruple album is compiled by Jerry Ewing, editor of Classic Rock magazine, and comes with a booklet inside of many pages, where it review quickly, the story of each band represented here. The cover is a picture of Roger Dean, author of cover albums of Yes.  Exists a first volume, two CDs and same cover, but with a different track listing, where include Jethro Tull with the song Living In The Past.
I would recommend this box set to any fan of this genre, as it contains true progressive rock anthems. It is true that it  not include big names like Pink Floyd, King Crimson or Genesis, I guess licensing problems, but you can listen to great bands such as Van Der Graf Generator, Atomic Rooster, Jethro Tull, Mike Oldfield, Camel, Caravan , EL & P, Curved Air, Gong, Gentle Giant, Aphrodite's Child, IQ, It Bites, Dream Theater, Rush, Supertramp and countless bands, all represented here with really good songs. It´s a pleasure to my ears to hear the ten minutes epic Lord Of Ages, a Magna Carta theme.

Jethro Tull is represented with two songs, Aqualung, in its live version of the album Bursting Out, and a light version of Pussy Willow, published in the album A Little Light Music, which does not do them much justice.
